Fast fashion has caused long-lasting harm – socially, environmentally and ethically. From poor working conditions to the waste it leaves behind, its impact continues to grow. At MR CUFF, we have chosen a different path.
We are committed to slow fashion.
This means we prioritise thoughtful design, responsible sourcing and long-term wear. From working with natural fibres to keeping waste to a minimum, sustainability is part of everything we do. If you’d like to read more, you can view our Environmental Policies and Procedures.
Our Workshop
All MR CUFF garments are made by hand in our Melbourne workshop, which is attached to our retail store. Our tailors work in full view of the street, right behind a large window. It is not just a nice detail – it’s our way of showing complete transparency.
By making everything in store, we significantly reduce the carbon emissions that usually come with offshore manufacturing and global shipping. Nothing is flown in. Nothing is sent out. It all happens here.
We also power both our store and workshop with one hundred percent renewable energy – a choice that reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Wool, Organic Cotton, Linen, Hemp and Timber
Every fabric we use is a natural fibre. Our cotton, linen and hemp are all one hundred percent organic. The buttons on our garments are made from timber – not plastic.
All of our materials are certified under the Oeko Tex Standard 100. That means every thread, button and trim has been tested for harmful substances and proven safe for human health.
No shortcuts. No hidden chemicals. Just quality materials, selected with care.
What We Choose Not to Use
We do not work with materials that go against our values.
That means no fur, no angora, no reptile skins, no feathers and no down.
We believe you can create premium, timeless garments without relying on animal products that are sourced unethically or unsustainably. Our focus is always on quality, integrity and responsible choices.
Final Thoughts
At MR CUFF, sustainability is not an afterthought – it is at the core of how we operate. From our materials and our energy use to the way we construct each garment, we aim to create menswear that is not just better made, but better for the planet.
